19 May Willis Towers Watson’s PPI, LifeSight, wins PBM 2017 communications prize
Winner of the Best in Employer Communications category
Amstelveen, 19 May 2017 – Last night, LifeSight won the Pensioen Bestuur Management (PBM) Communications Prize 2017 for the Best in Employer Communications category. The jury praised the independent pension provider for its fresh, clear and innovative way of communicating.
Edwin van den Oever, Managing Director of LifeSight in the Netherlands: “We are delighted to receive this award. LifeSight enables employers to offer their employees a future-proof pension scheme that provides insight and an action overview. By inspiring employers with our communications, we are taking the first step towards effective employee communication regarding pensions.”
In 2017, PBM awarded prizes for the eleventh time to pension funds, pension providers and other parties that performed outstandingly in the field of pension communications. LifeSight won the prize for best employer communications. The jury thought that its fresh, clear and innovative way of communicating motivates employers to consider their employees’ retirement provision.
Rolf Kooijman, chairman of the board of the LifeSight foundation: “We are very pleased at winning this award. It’s a nice recognition of our concept in which the interests of employers and employees are central, with the main goal of improving our clients’ pension outcome. We are independent and not part of a bank, insurer or asset manager. Thanks to LifeSight, employees are demonstrably better informed and are significantly more involved in their pension situation. This leads to greater appreciation of their pension as an employee benefit.”
Need for effective communication
A change in the legislation in 2007 forced pension funds to improve their communications. In the meantime, the pension crisis and instability due to underfunding and pension reductions have only underlined the need for pension funds to communicate effectively. To further stimulate the development of communications regarding pensions, Pensioen Bestuur & Management magazine created the annual PBM communication prizes in 2007. By participating in PBM communication prizes, funds and providers, as well as employers and other parties that pursue or support a strong and effective communication policy, can also receive the recognition they deserve and encourage others.
